Whether it be sharing techniques, celebrating awesome music, or just talking about the latest gear, the music department of GrooveBoston is always pumped to embrace the local DJ scene.

Student DJ VIP Experience

If you are an upcoming DJ or an experienced producer, and you attend a school on the GrooveBoston tour, we’d love to meet you! We offer a very unique opportunity to campus DJs to come backstage (VIP style) and meet the GrooveBoston music team, tour the production elements of the show, and experience an exclusive sound check on a bass-infused sound system.

If you are interested in pressing some of buttons on our massive CDJ setup (known as The Battle Station), please email backstage@grooveboston.com with “[SCHOOL NAME] Student DJ” in the subject line. We are excited to hear from you!

Warm Up DJs

Though we do tour with resident opening and headlining face-rockers (that have worked their way up the GB ladder), we occasionally look for local warm-up DJs to set the mood as students are entering a GrooveBoston event. If you are an experienced/working DJ and are interested at getting on our list of DJs, please send a cover letter and a link to an example SoundCloud mix.

The cover letter should contain:

  • A bio of who you are, where you’re from, and what you do
  • Your experience with GrooveBoston, and the reason why you’d be the perfect fit to warm up for a GB show
  • Additional links to your website, Facebook page, YouTube channel, etc.

The mix should meet the following requirements:

  • Hosted on SoundCloud
  • Mix is original (please do not take credit for other DJs’ work)
  • The music style/selections should reflect what you feel best fits as a warm-up set prior to our opening DJ (hint: we are not looking for a set of banging electro house music)

Please review all info above carefully, and send your info to to music@grooveboston.com.
